Applicant Information: 2010 Cycle

Introduction

Funded by a grant from the government of Japan, the Japan Indonesia Presidential Scholarship Program (JIPS) supports PhD studies in an academic field of study covered by Indonesian Centers of Excellence (CoE) participating in the program. Each of these newly established Centers of Excellence is located at a leading higher education institution in the country with a demonstrated track record in the pursuit of excellence. The goal of the program is to promote excellence in research in these Centers to support the Ministry of National Education in its mission to improve the quality of higher education and research in the country.

The purpose of the scholarship is to support scholarship recipients in upgrading their qualifications and to provide them with an international study experience at renowned academic institutions in World Bank member countries, except Indonesia. During their studies, scholars are encouraged to build and foster academic collaborations and partnerships. The selected candidates commit to work, upon completion of their studies, in of the sponsoring CoE where they are expected to take an active role in the academic life.

Length of Scholarship:

Between three to four years.

Scholar’s Commitment:

Be committed to work as professor/researcher in the Centers of Excellence endorsing the scholarship upon completion of the PhD Program.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following general criteria to be eligible for a scholarship:

1. Be a national and resident of Indonesia;
2. Be under 45 years. Candidates born before January 1, 1965 will not be considered;
3. Must have completed and been awarded a Master’s degree, or equivalent, at the time of application; however outstanding candidates with a bachelor degree can be considered for a Master-PhD track;
4. Have maintained a GPA of at least 3 on a scale of 4 over both undergraduate and graduate studies.

Application forms and information about the application procedure are available in the participating Centers of Excellence, and on the World Bank Scholarships Program website at www.worldbank.org/scholarships.

Interested candidates should submit application packages by March 5, 2010 to the relevant Center of Excellence of their choice using the contact information provided in Attachment B. Preselected candidates will be invited to an interview during April 2010.

UNISMA BEKASI mengajak seluruh putra/putri Indonesia untuk mengikuti BEASISWA PENUH UNIVERSITAS ISLAM “45” (UNISMA) BEKASI (100% bebas biaya kuliah) Tahun Akademik 2010/2011 untuk tingkat D3 dan S1 dengan ketentuan:

1. Siswa Kelas 12 SMA/SMK/MA yang akan mengikuti Ujian Nasional (UN) 2010.
2. Tidak pernah tinggal kelas.
3. Nilai rata-rata raport minimal 7,00 untuk setiap semester.
4. Nilai raport untuk mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris dan Matematika rata-rata minimal 6,00 tiap semester.

Persyaratan Khusus:

1. Mampu menyelesaikan kuliah selama 8 semester untuk program studi S1 atau 6 semester program D3
2. Nilai IP tiap semester minimal 3,00 (sosial) dan 2,75 (eksakta).
3. Berpartisipasi secara aktif dalam kegiatan UNISMA baik akademik, kemahasiswaan, kerjasama dan promosi.
4. Bersedia dan berupaya mengikuti dan memenangkan event lomba yang kompetitif yang diselenggarakan oleh pihak eksternal kampus dalam rangka meningkatkan citra kelembagaan kampus.
5. Tidak menempuh studi di perguruan tinggi lainnya selama kuliah berlangsung.
6. Tidak menikah selama studi berlangsung.
7. Tidak mengambil cuti selama kuliah berlangsung.
8. Tidak bekerja selama kuliah berlangsung.
9. Tidak berhak mendapat beasiswa lain dari instansi pemerintah (DIKTI, KOPERTIS dan lain–lain), namun masih berhak berkompetisi untuk mendapat beasiswa dari instansi swasta lainnya.

ICP Ph D scholarships 2010

Definition

VLIR-UOS launched its ICP Ph D programme in 2003 to enable promising graduates of the International Courses Programme (ICP) to make a Ph D at a Flemish university.

The ICP Ph D programme aims to institutionally strengthen universities or research institutions in the South through capacity building. Local academic personnel is upgraded by offering Ph D scholarships in a so-called ‘sandwich program’. The research and doctoral programme are geographically spread over two locations, namely the academic home institution and a Flemish university. In this way both local and Flemish expertise are combined to provoke a win-win effect for all parties involved.

Target group

The call is only open for ICP graduates. An ICP is an International Course Programme (Master, or Master after Master), funded by VLIR-UOS and organized in Belgium at one or more of the Flemish Universities. The applicant should either graduate in the reference year (2010) or not have graduated from an ICP more than five years before the start of the ICP Ph D scholarship period. Call

This call for ICP Ph D 2010, launched on 6 November 2009, is open until February 2010. Selection will take place in May 2010. Selected candidates start on 1 October 2010.
